A Licensed and Certified Chemical Dependency Clinic

Brighton Hospital is an accredited and state-licensed chemical dependency clinic, employing licensed and board-certified counselors, physicians, therapists and nurses who are leaders in the field of chemical dependency. We are accredited by The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization which accredits and certifies more than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States.  Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards in drug and alcohol treatment. Our clinic is also a member of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP).

We share the vision expressed by the International Nurses Society on Addictions – to be a global leader in addiction nursing – and we are excited to be a part of this significant work. First offered in 1989, Certified Addictions Registered Nurses (CARN) promotes the highest standards for the chemical dependency nursing practice. Certified chemical dependency nurses are recognized for their expertise and commitment in providing quality nursing care in treating alcohol and drug addictions.

Brighton Hospital is proud to have several CARN nurses who are certified in chemical dependency working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of certified and licensed drug counselors, physicians, and therapists. Having such a dedicated staff certified in chemical dependency is a significant step for Brighton Hospital. It supports our commitment to clinical excellence in drug treatment, and sets Brighton apart from other licensed chemical dependency hospitals.

Our certified drug treatment nursing team works in conjunction with a staff of full-time, board-certified and licensed physicians, and licensed and certified drug counselors. Brighton Hospital is the only licensed drug treatment center in Michigan that has 24-hour nursing staff coverage and a full-time licensed dietitian and nutrition specialist, in addition to our on-site drug treatment physicians, counselors and therapists.

If you have any concerns about patient care, drug treatment safety, or the licensure and certification of our physicians, counselors, nurses and therapists, please contact us at 810-227-1211. If we cannot resolve your concerns and you wish to contact the Joint Commission, call 1-800-994-6610 or send an email to complaint@jcaho.org.
